David Tuckman, M.D.

Dr. Tuckman is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in surgery of the hand and upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand), sports medicine and arthroscopy. He earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. For postgraduate training, he completed an internship in general surgery, as well as a four-year residency in orthopedic surgery, both at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Tuckman was then dual fellowship-trained in sports medicine/arthroscopy and surgery of the hand and upper extremity at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. In addition, Dr. Tuckman is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and has published extensively on a broad range of topics related to sports medicine, hand, elbow and shoulder surgery. He is a lifetime member of the International Bone Research Association (IBRA), a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS), a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and currently serves on the Executive Board of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Tuckman has been recognized multiple times as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly, Newsday and U.S. News & World Report.
